Is It Really Wednesday Already?

I confess, I never did try a new chickpea recipe yesterday. I had promised my son Peanut Noodles after our next food coop pickup and that was yesterday. I put the chickpeas aside for today. BTW, for lunch today I added chopped tomatoes to the peanut noodles and that was a really delicious combination.

It's chilly in New York, a perfect soup day. I'm not certain what soup I'm making but I'll be tossing the chickpeas in.

On the money saving front, it occured to me that I needed to start thinking about holiday craft projects to avoid breaking my holiday budget. It looks like we'll be having our "everything for a dollar or less" tag sale this weekend as long as the weather holds.

I'm a crafter as well (and frugal for the most part). I love the holidays. I've already started making the holiday cards, testing vegan recipes to use for holiday meals/treats and now I'm looking for clever gift ideas. We try to make most of our gifts so I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I posted about a recipe from VwaV I made today. Going to make her chickpea-broccoli casserole tomorrow. I love that casserole.

I've been seeing on some other blogs, a test recipe for chickpea cutlets for a new vegan cookbook. They look SOO good.

I'm not really crafty, plus I don't really do Christmas gifts. I am trying to learn how to knit, to try to save a little money. Although I found out yarn is not cheap.

I'm so glad you're back posting!

I don't comment all that often, as my family's not vegan. But I love reading about your culinary adventures, and I wanted to tell you how much I admire your commitment to trying new things in the kitchen...and doing it on a budget!

Midwest Vegan,
We make most of our gifts as well. For us, it makes the holidays more about giving and less about shopping.

Barbara,
The chickpea broccoli casserole sounds good and so do the chickpea cutlets. I can't knit but I can crochet, although I'm kind of a one trick pony when it somes to my skill level.

Thanks Meredith and don't be shy about commenting if you have something to say. Everyone's comments are welcome here.
